In northern Stockholm, the new campus area “Campus Albano” is emerging. Among other things, 1.100 student apartments are being built, of which 4 houses are located on top of the metro tunnel.
To avoid structure born noise and vibrations from passing trains, the houses have been built on 25 mm thick Regufoam mats. The varying loads required the use of 9 different Regufoam types. In order for the right material to be used in the right place, Vibratec has dimensioned and made installation drawings before delivery. In total, about 1.700 m2 of mats have been delivered to carry a weight of around 90.000 tons. The entire project should be ready by 2023 but some students have already moved in.
