PEAB where in the process of building a loading dock for receipt of goods in the project “Nya Sjukhuset Malmö”. The loading dock was placed under roof in the building. Since heavy vehicles enters the loading dock, vibrations could easily be transferred to the frame of the building causing disturbances.
To prevent vibrations, the whole concrete slab was suspended with strips of Regufoam, that where mounted with an air gap.
The strips were then covered with a 1 mm thick sheet of metal. The choice of material was made to minimize the build height. On top of the sheet of metal, a concrete slab was poured.
This solution makes it possible for everyone in the building to focus on their job without being disturbed from vibrations caused by the many deliveries needed for the hospital to maintain its functions.
